Meet Daisy, our beloved “Miracle Dog,” whose story ignited the creation of Misfit Munchies.

At the age of 16, Daisy faced a heart-wrenching diagnosis of high liver and kidney toxins. Her owner, Rosie, refused to give up hope, boldly deciding to switch Daisy to a diet of human-grade food and fresh vegetables. The results were nothing short of miraculous; Daisy not only recovered but continued to live to be 18.5 years old.

Simultaneously, the pandemic began alongside a journey of composting and recycling home food waste. This new insight inspired an idea: why not transform overlooked produce into something beneficial?

 

A chance encounter in an MBA entrepreneurship class brought Rosie, Princesa, Lannie, and Karen together, sparking the creation of Misfit Munchies. In early 2024, what started as a classroom concept quickly evolved and transformed into a small business.

In April 2024, Misfit Munchies won their class competition by pitching the idea to five independent, highly accomplished VC judges. In May 2024, they entered the university New Venture Fair and won Best Team and Best MVP. 

​

Daisy’s remarkable recovery demonstrates the strength of proper nutrition through a wholesome, sustainable approach. At Misfit Munchies, we are dedicated to providing healthy, nutritious treats for pets while addressing food waste.
